ISLAND OF VIR

The island of Vir is situated about 25 kilometres northwest of Zadar in Northern Dalmatia, connected to the mainland by a bridge.

 

The coastline measures 31 kilometers - in majority natural and almost untouched sandy and pebble beaches with crystal clear water are making from this island a paradise for family holidays.
A fresh breeze tempers the midsummer temperatures and is offering good conditions for windsurfers. Vir is one of 300 islands in archipelago of Zadar. On the island you will find a large number of sandy beaches. If you feel a bit adventurous you might try and find a bay all to yourself or visit a venetian castle from 16th century.

Arriving by car:

If you are arriving from highway , to Zadar you can come from several directions . 

• the exit Zadar 1 - Nin - Privlaka - Vir,
• exit Zadar 2 - Petrčane - Zaton - Nin - Privlaka - Vir.

Arriving by bus:

There are some direct routes from all major cities to Vir. Or you can take bus to Zadar, and the bus to Vir.

Arriving by train:

Train to Zadar, and then the bus to Vir.
